Julie Taylor, from Kings Norton in Birmingham has today revealed she may be taking the plunge, leaving her current full time job and embarking on a new career as a novelist and poet.

The Amazon Kindle eBook reader is now in its fourth generation, the Kindle platform allows readers to download books straight to their Kindle devices, with zero waiting time and usually at lower costs than the old school paper versions.

Julie currently has 3 books available to purchase on Kindle, and has experienced an astonishing amount of interest and sales already. Those books include ?We Love the 70?s?, ?Collars and Catwalks? and the footballing masterpiece ?Patrick Hatrick and Other Football Scorers?.

Julie goes on to say : ?It took quite some time to get my head around the KDP interface but after watching some very good instructional videos and reading several articles I just got stuck in. Some of the stuff I have written was in old notebooks so I guess the most time consuming part was copying all this into a word document in order to be able to upload it to kindle.?

As part of a promotion this month Julie allowed her books to be downloaded free for a couple of days and she was blown away by the amount of downloads they all had, they are still continuing to get a huge number of downloads now they are back at full price.

Julie continues: ?I don?t charge a fortune for the books, and it would be a nice to dream to make enough royalties in order for me to give up my work and be a stay at home bookworm, for me it?s all about the readers enjoyment, if they put the book down satisfied and happy then that keeps me smiling, a nice review on Amazon doesn?t go amiss either.?

Amazon launched the Kindle in 2007, and allowed people like Julie to join the Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) scheme for free and upload their own novels and poetry to the Kindle format. KDP is a self-service web system which requires very little technical knowhow, a laptop and the ability to upload files is pretty much all you require, of course it is possible to improve the offering by uploading a virtual ?front cover? for your e-book.

Julie and husband Lee take care of all the artwork, and it certainly gives a unique interpretation of the books. Lee is a big part of the Tools industry currently working as part of the Plumbworld empire, the largest name in bathrooms on the internet, and has recently done some modelling and a video campaign for a new brand of Power Tools which we hear is due to be launched soon.

Julie was born and raised in Bromsgrove in Worcestershire and went to school in Waseley Hills High School in Rubery, Birmingham, and currently works at Hopwood Service Station just off the M42. Julie is already on her way to releasing several more Kindle masterpieces which should be available by the end of May.
